Summer Camp Structure and Schedule
Video lecture and material will be shared with the students every week via email and on the website on Sunday.
There will be an assignment given every week.
There will be a Q&A session once a week on Fridays, 5-6pm PST. Students are supposed to go through the weekly material, and have tried the assignment before coming for the Q&A session.
Students can ask for extra time with the instructor via email.
Assignments need to be submitted 24 hours before the next class.
There will be an "Award of Completion" given to students who successfully submitted all the assignments.
These are free classes, and students would be chosen on first come first basis. With the tremendous success of 2021 and 2022 Java Camps, we have opened 150 seats!
No prior computer science/programming experience is required.
Students need to have a laptop with an internet connection.
Time commitment per week is 2-3 hours.
The classes will be delivered over Zoom. Please download Zoom on your laptop.
There will be a demo session on the last day of the class. Each student would submit a 3 mins video showcasing their final project.

There were 30 middle and high school girls joined the 8 weeks Summer Immersion program from June - August 2023.
The students were chosen on first come first basis.
No prior computer science/programming experience was required. However, Students were required to have a laptop with an internet connection.
The classes were delivered over Zoom.
On the last day of the Java Summer camp, there was a Hackathon session where the students showcased a 3 mins video showcasing their final project.

Qualifications:
A middle, or high school student, living in Asia
Strong desire to learn to create your own website
Camp is limited to 30 students, and it is on first come first basis.
The student needs to have a laptop and Wi-Fi.
This is a two-hour camp and will be held online via zoom. Once you fill out the form, the zoom link will be shared.
Prerequisites:
Please be ready with 2-3 pictures related to these 6 different categories:
1) Travel, 2) Self pic and pictures with family, 3) School/Academics, 4) Sports, 5) Awards, 6) Hobbies/interests.
Result:
The students will walk away with their personal brand-new website 🙂!

There was an overwhelming response in the Java Summer camp applications, since only 30 seats were available, we were unable to provide admission to all the requesters.
The students were chosen on first come first basis.
There were Software Engineer Mentors from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon who mentored the girl students through out the Summer Camp.
